Hot Dice / Privacy

Privacy, kept
simple.

Hot Dice is a multiplayer dice game from Effective Current, Inc. This policy explains what the app handles when you play.

Effective dateAugust 13, 2026

What we collect

Hot Dice does not collect personal data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or sale. We do not track you across apps or websites, and the app does not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

To make a multiplayer match work, the app sends the display name you enter, a room code, and the current game state to the Hot Dice game server. This information is used only to operate the match and is not used to identify, profile, or contact you.

Games played through matchmaking on the website are recorded on a public leaderboard: a display name, a number of wins, and a number of games. Games played in the apps through a room code are not recorded there. A leaderboard row is deleted automatically after 90 days without a game, and you can ask us to remove one sooner by sending the exact display name to the address below.

The server also records gameplay events — a game started, a turn busted, a game finished — to find bugs. These use a random identifier generated for that single game, never include your display name, and are deleted after 30 days.

Server logs

Like almost every web server, ours writes request logs that include the IP address a request came from, so that outages and abuse can be diagnosed. They roll over automatically, are not combined with your display name, and are not used to build a profile of you.

What stays on your device

Hot Dice may remember your display name and the room you are rejoining in the app’s local storage so a relaunch can restore your seat. You can remove this information by deleting the app or clearing its saved data.

Sharing and security

We do not sell or share personal data with advertisers or data brokers. The game connection uses encrypted transport when connecting to the production server. No security measure can guarantee absolute security, but we limit the information handled to what the game needs.

Children’s privacy

Hot Dice is not designed to collect personal information from children. Because the game does not collect personal data for advertising or profiling, we do not knowingly maintain children’s personal profiles.

Changes and contact

We will update this page if the app’s data practices change. For questions about this policy, contact dallas@effectivecurrent.com.
